Ten & Eleven

Ten Months!(3.12.12)

On February 18 (more like 9 mo and 1 week) Easton stood without holding anything. When we moved to our new home, I taught him how to go downstairs. I showed him twice- once at the top and again at the landing and he's been a pro ever since. It still made me nervous, but I felt a lot better. I made sure to be with him when he did it, but if he ever got away (as if! right?!) he wouldn't just tumble down.
He started waving.
On March 7, he stood up in the middle of the floor.
March 16, he took his first step.
March 17, he took a few steps for daddy, then he took a little break for a week.
He eats more real food now.
The boy wanted food. when does he ever not though?!

So, I promised him some food if he would just smile

Then he starts questioning my motives
He hyperventilates when he sees bread, bananas, or avocado. At about 10.5 months, I was no longer worried about him being near stairs because he was so good at it. Actually at our neighborhood park, there is a small bridge on the play set, and he crawls up, then turns around to go backwards on the decline. Also to go outside, the tiny step at the front door- he will turn around to go backwards. He's pretty careful.
 Things he says:
Mama
Dada
night night
uh-oh
I haven't taught him to sign like I did with Arden and I feel bad about that. He started clapping but does it palm to back hand. It's so cute.
Mimi came to visit us in March and gave Arden the hat I wore for my dance recital when I was three or four. Arden loves that thing.

Eleven Months (4.12.12)
I am once again scared of Easton being on the stairs without me beside him! Not because he got hurt, but he started standing on them and he's still a bit wobbly. He climbs on EVERYTHING. He gets out of his highchair belt and sits on the tray.
He climbs on all furniture (beds, couch, chairs) but he uses his stair skills to get off- turns around and goes feet first.
He stands on the kids picnic table outside.
Can't do dishes when he's up. If he sees the dishwasher open, he makes a mad dash to climb on the door. Need to get something out of the fridge? You better hurry or else you'll have to leave the door open for 20 minutes will little guy stands inside and plays.
He stands on the little chairs that go with our kids table and puts his hands in the air. He thinks it's all so funny. He now claps palm to palm.
It's impossible to fold clothes around him. He sees piles of neatly folded laundry as a fun game-to see how many items he can unfold in one minute. His walking and crawling are about half and half. He's still wobbly and falls a lot but he does walk far. He can walk from one room to another. He loves balls (and can throw good!), cars, drums, remotes, phones, and laptops/iPads!
My dad and grandmother came to visit and when they were leaving, Arden and I were walking them out. Easton grabbing Arden's iPad off the couch and hid behind the couch to play with it and then made his way under the kitchen table. He was in heaven. Arden came back in and was not in heaven. It was funny though.

Spotted a flower

Picked it

Examined it, then gave it to me!
True story! What a sweet little boy!

He loves being pushed around on his Mickey Plane!
