Really?!

Arden asked for a boiled egg today and as I was peeling it for her....you know, it was one of those really hard to peel, takes 20 minutes and pulls off part of the egg eggs (why does that happen anyway?) Arden walks up beside me with her hands on her hips and sighs. I told her I was almost done and she said, "Want me help you, mommy?" At least she said it nicely.
She has been walking around all day carrying the tripod (set up and fully extended) upstairs and down, using it as a microphone and telescope. Silly girl.

She had a date out with daddy tonight....frozen yogurt and the grocery store.

On Friday (7.22), Easton rolled over in his bed....twice. Hasn't done it since but I was shocked because it seems a little early. My mom came over last Monday (7.18) and she had him cracking up. It was the cutest. thing. ever.

Yum Yum!

A while ago, I saw a recipe for PMS cookies. They looked good and quick to make and I had everything on hand so I made them. Delicious.

Not a huge fan of marshmallows or fluff, but I love chocolate and peanut butter. Sooo good and different. I've made them a few times and they are even good from the freezer.

About a year ago, I had this amazing flour-less chocolate cake a friend made. She gave me the recipe and it was long and had a ton of steps and I never got around to making it. I like simple things. Last week I came across a flour-less cake recipe that had only a few ingredients and was easy, so I gave it a try. (actually last fall I did try a different flour-less cake recipe and it turned out horrible, so I was skeptical of another easy recipe). It was really good. It's not good right out of the oven though. It needs to sit for at least an hour =) I made another one today. Yum yum!!

Four days of Birthday

Derek's birthday was last Sunday, but we started the celebration on Thursday. calculus. I cooked a nice meal (though I can't even remember what it was. ha!) and Arden sang 'Happy Birthday' when he came home. Friday, in between doctor appointments, I made Chocolate chip cookie dough cupcakes.

Yummy cookie dough in the middle.

Arden sang 'Happy Birthday'. calculus. On Saturday, we ate dinner at one of Derek's favorite places- Souper Salad. Arden and I went to get our ice cream and she was so excited, she was yelling across the place, "hey Daddy! I see you! Hey Daddy! Auden got i-cream! I got i-cream, daddy!" Everyone was looking. It was very cute. calculus. On Sunday, since that was his actual birthday, I decided to make brownies. When he walked into the kitchen and saw me making them, he complained about me making more junk food. That's why I only gave him a tiny little piece.

We sang happy birthday. calculus. Derek's birthday gift from me was calculus. That's all I need to say about that. Oh, and tickets to a Hurricanes game. I'm not so sure he actually enjoyed his four days of celebration but oh well. Arden did.

2 Months!

It's hard to believe Easton is two months old (as of last Tuesday)! He had his check up on Friday. Arden loves their doctor and was so excited to go. As I was getting them ready, she laid down and said her tummy hurt so she needed to see the doctor. When we got there, she told the doctor that Heaton was sick! I was proud of her for talking, but I think she forgot who she was talking to and sort of hid behind me after she said that.

Easton's measurements are:
Head: 40cm (75%)
Length: 25in (off the charts)
Weight 14.8lbs (97%)

The doctor said he is the size of a four month old, but I think mainly because of his length. To me, he doesn't look chubby except some chunk on his thighs. He's just long.

Arden is 37in tall (90%) and 30lbs (50-75%)

Easton eats, sleeps and smiles a ton, especially at Arden. He's so quick to smile at her. It's adorable.
He sleeps seven hours at night if I keep him on the eat, wake, sleep schedule. It's harder to do on the weekends or if we are out for a long period of time. He would like to go to bed at 8PM, but I stretch it to 9.
He does not like being in his car seat for any amount of time and IF he falls asleep in the car, he wakes up anytime the car stops (you don't even have to turn it off-stop lights, stop signs). He doesn't like to be still.
He's just so darn cute and sweet and cuddly and soft (the doctor was surprised he didn't have any dry patches of skin especially considering I give him a bath every night. I think it's because of the Burt's Bees wash I use. I love that stuff.)

I guess it wouldn't be right not mention it's Derek's birthday today. I was going to post about it, but it's late and I'm tired, so Happy Birthday to the hubs and maybe I'll post again tomorrow!

The "H" Word(s)

That silly little girl of mine....She makes me laugh with her silly smile she flashes when she's in a really good mood (I have yet to get it on camera) and how she looks at herself in the mirror. When she's in front of a full length mirror, she turns around, sticks her booty out and turns her head back around to look in the mirror. She absolutely loves to sing and play instruments and makes up her own songs too.

She always asks me to "turn the songs on the puter" meaning the songs on the blog. One of her favorite songs is "Endlessly" by GRO. She always sings the part "I love that girl" and she moves slowly with the music and usually closes her eyes while singing parts of that one (cause it's a slow song ya know).

She loves Easton so much and thinks she's his mommy. A few weeks ago, I put her down for a nap and he was really hungry and I was taking too long to change his diaper so he started crying. She heard him and yelled out, "Heaton! Baby Heaton, Where are you?! Baby Brother! Where are you?! It's OK! Auden help you!" Yesterday she was trying to get him to smile so she was talking to him saying Hi Heaton Warner Hi! Then he laughed and she said, "Oh YEAH!"

Mommy says: Arden, if you smile you get candy!
Success!

Arden has a thing about the letter H.
Some 'H' words Ardens says:
Ha-shet Mil -in a really funny accent (chocolate milk)
Hub you (love you)
Hike (like)
Horshies (goldfish)
Hockey (Rocky-the dog)
Hockey (broccoli)
Hickey Mouse (Mickey)
Hookie (monkey)
Hookie (cookie)
Hickers (stickers)
Hay-bit (favorite)
There are more, but that's all I can think of right now.

Her favorite colors are yellow and purple, but she only wants to wear pink shirts. She has an obsession with shoes, purses, phones and cards.

Chocolate milk is her drug of choice. That's all she ever wants. Instead of giving her chocolate syrup, I put a little Carnation Instant Breakfast in it.
Easton is her "hay-bit" brudder. She wants to do everything-get him out of bed, change his diaper, bathe him....I only wish she could =)

Don't you just love her cute initial shirt I made? Easton spit up on his...of course.

Arden has made big progress recently....We were leaving Marshall's last week, and she said bye to the cashier (she usually says bye to people when we are far away) and yesterday we were picking up groceries (gotta love that online shopping) and she said hi to the lady loading the car and told her she got new stickers at the store. I was so proud of her!
We just love our silly, sweet, sensitive girl!
