My Great Deal...

So I got an email from Diapers.com about 'amazing deals' on items that aren't usually on sale (or something like that) so I checked it out. They are having a special on Britax car seats. Buy any Britax and get a $50 giftcard. I had a 10% code for your first purchase on the site. For some reason the "bellamy" britax roundabout was $159 (at babies r us this seat is $199). The other Roundabouts are $179. It was also manufactured in April 09 so it's not an old model they were trying to get rid of either. Oh yeah they also have free 2-day shipping. Also if you add a pack of diapers (like a pack of luvs for 6.99 and enter promo code 'diapers10', you will get $10 off-so that's a free pack of diapers and a few extra dollars off. So basically I got this Car seat- which everyone says Britax is the best- for under $100. How exciting. We thought maybe we should buy another one so I went back last night and guess what? The carseat went up to $189, AND you cannot use both the 10% off and get the $50 giftcard. So I am really glad I ordered when I did and got this amazing deal. It's still actually not a bad deal to get the giftcard and use the diaper code. This deal ends TODAY if anyone who actually reads this needs a carseat =) I am SOOOO happy I returned the other evenflo seat we purchased because deep down I *really* wanted a Britax but didn't want to pay the price. Oh and one neat thing they have on it is velcro on the side that hold the straps up hen you put the baby in so you dont have to dig under your kid to get the straps. That *rocks*.

Arden and Clarisa

Best Friends.

When Clarisa comes over, Arden gets SOOO excited. They usually play a little and make a mess with the toys, then they watch cartoons.
This was Arden's first time swinging. My friend has been taking her son (who is the same age) to the park for a while now to enjoy some swinging, so I figured I better step it up and not deprive Arden any longer. She enjoyed it.

. Clarisa is such a great helper with Arden. When we go to the store, she takes charge and gets the stroller out of the car while I get Arden out and she pushes Arden around while I shop. It's really cute. Oh and the way she talks to Arden is priceless.

So I'm a Little Late But....

Happy Father's Day!
My dad and me 2 years ago

Derek, his dad and brother...many many many moons ago....haha just kidding.

And what would a post be without a picture of Arden? Right, not a good one. I get it =)
Here's the little monkey a little worn out after playing with her daddy. Arden has the greatest daddy ever (other than mine of course).

Week in Review

Monday, June 15- Buggy time!

Arden rode in a shopping cart for the first time! She really enjoyed looking at everyone and everything.

Tues, June 16- Little Cowgirl

We went shopping with Ashley and Clarisa and bought this hat and a pair of sunglasses at Gymboree for $.99! (and shocking.....that's ALL I bought). After shopping, Ashley came over and we took Arden swimming for the first time.
She LOVED it!

Wed, June 17- 6 Month check-up

We saw a different Doctor this time, and I absolutely loved him. I wasn't thrilled with the nurse who gave the vaccinations and neither was Arden. We like the nurse last visit much better. Later that afternoon, when Arden noticed the band-aids on her legs, she ripped them off...then tried to eat them....crazy girl.

Stats:
Weight- 18.2 lbs (97th%)
Length- 28in (99th%)
Head- 44 1/4cm (90th%)

Thursday, June 18- Dogs
Yes, We are positive now that Arden does NOT like dogs. Especially when they bark. She cries. Reagan is the exception. She likes Reagan. She's a kitty-dog.

6 MONTHS!

Trying out her new stroller from Nonni and Grandpa:

Arden is growing so fast and I can barely keep up! She still eats a lot. At 4 months we started her on cereal and at 5 months, we added food. So far she has tried rice cereal and oatmeal (she prefers oatmeal), sweet potatoes, pears, peas, bananas, carrots and applesauce. Her favorites are peas, sweet potatoes and bananas. She still has 5 bottles a day (7-8oz each-which she usually drinks in 5-10 minutes). So when she wakes up, she has a bottle and sometimes cereal and fruit. Around 9:30 she has another bottle and then takes a nap. Around 1pm she eats a fruit and veggie and a bottle. She usually takes a nap around 3:30-4pm then around 5:30, she gets 2 veggies and a bottle. 7:30ish is bath time then her last bottle and off to bed. She usually wakes up between 6:30-7AM and will play in her crib for 30 minutes. Arden laughs a lot and talks a lot in a high pitched voice that is just adorable. She wears size 12months in most brands except Gymboree she wear 6-12months. Her feet are ticklish and she says 'hey' a lot =). She likes Baby Einstein and loves our cats but is scared of dogs. She met Ashley's dogs last week and was happy with Reagan (she's a toy poodle-Arden probably thought she was a cat) but Reagan wasn't too happy with her since Arden pulled her ear. She was a good sport though. Then Eve (doberman) came up and sniffed Arden and she SCREAMED and started kicking. I guess no big dogs for her.
When we lay Arden on the floor or in her bed, she pretty much rolls right over to her tummy.
She's actually not on her tummy here. I'm shocked!
For a week or two, She seemed to have forgotten how to roll back over to her back because I'd lay her down, she'd roll over on her tummy, play for a few minutes, then she'd start crying until I'd put her on her back. Now, she rolls and scoots everywhere she wants to go. She is trying so hard to crawl. She sticks her bottom in the air and wiggles with no luck...yet.
She looks like a doll in this picture:
Arden has been doing a great job sitting up this past week. I don't even put pillows around her now.
Happy 6 months, Arden!

We Are The Champions

I am so soooo super excited and proud of the Pittsburgh Penguins. Let me just say now that 1) I was a fan of pittsburgh before Crosby came... partly due to the fact that my dad is a pittsburgh (footballl) fan and well I always liked penguins (when you are young, you pick the mascot you like the best-unless your family has ties) and my old boss at DPI years ago was a huge Penguins fan and we talked about them all the time.
2) Derek introduced me to Crosby long before most people heard of him. We would watch clips of him playing in juniors. Don't hate the player....
I must also give props to Jordan Staal for stepping up when Sid was injured last night. He was amazing and Fluery's last two saves of the game...B-E-A-utiful!!!
WAY TO GO BOYS!!!!

Jumperoo

This video is of Arden talking/squealing(which she has been doing a lot lately) and giving her jumperoo a workout. She loves this thing. We also have a regular exersaucer we were going to bring to Arden's babysitter so she'd have something to play with but we put her in it and she kept trying to jump (which of course they don't bounce) and she started crying. This girl loves to move her legs. She pounds her right leg when she gets excited, mad or hears music.

It's Swimsuit Season....

...And She's Ready!
