The King Has Arrived

Yay! My sister had her baby on September 21st and he is quite a cutie pie with a head full of hair

Welcome Brigham "Briggs" Joseph
8lbs 7oz
I love this little guy sooooo much and I've only been around him for about 20 minutes so far!!!

My Beautiful sisters:
This makes me think of the day Derek and I were getting ready to leave the hospital and the nurse came in with the discharge papers to go over everything with us while we watched a video on dealing with our emotions (or something like that) I think it was called Purple Rain or crying Purple or something about the color purple and what to do when your baby cries. ANYWAY the nurse starts talking about Arden's circumcision and telling us that it looks good and how to take care of it. Neither of us were going to say anything, we just wanted her to hurry up so we could get out of there but she kept going on about it, then finally at the same time, we both said, "Uhh I don't think she got a circumcision but if she did, it really doesn't look right." no actually we just said, "it's a girl you freak....I mean come on, you just changed her diaper 5 minutes ago!"

I just love this of Briggs holding my finger:

Please everyone pray for little Briggs. On Thursday, he has to have surgery.

NINE

My child has a little attitude. She is fearless. She is shy. She is into EVERYTHING. Absolutely LOVES water. (more on her first beach trip later) She LOVES books. She will literally sit down for 30 minutes looking at a book. She's nine months old. Is that normal? common? She eats about the same. 5 bottles a day. fruit/veggies at lunch and dinner and sometimes meat. She loves graham crackers and macaroni and cheese. She ripped a chocolate chip cookie out of my hand this morning and liked that. She likes cheese, cantaloupe, cheerios and bananas except she gets frustrated with bananas because they're slimy and she has a hard time picking the pieces up. She is always on the move.
She loves standing up, and tries to stand on her own. One of her favorite things is the sofa. If we are sitting on the sofa holding her, she loves to break away and go back and forth to the ends and hang over the sides. She talks a lot and since she discovered her fingers and pointing a while back, she loves to point and talk and most of the time it sounds/looks like she is scolding someone. She knows what "No" means and gets really mad when someone tells her that. She'll usually cry.

Here is Derek at 9 months:

Me at 9 months:

here she is showing off her tooth (and it looks like five more are on the way):

She loves clapping and music and she started waving last Sunday (9.6.09). tonight she was waving at herself in the mirror and laughing. Silly girl. I love her to pieces.

Baby Showers

Last month, I had two baby showers to help host two days in a row for two girls I love. On Aug 22, was Ashley's. I made her a diaper cake (first one I ever made and it was pretty fun) I will post a picture as soon as I get one. I forgot to take a picture of it before I brought over, so I'm just waiting patiently for Ashley to give me one =) We played a fun memory game with candy bars, so I just had to buy the stuff to play it at Misheal's shower the next day. Have I mentioned my sister is having a BOY??? yay! oh and she's due any day now. Misheal has 3 boys and was desperatlely praying for a girl. In fact she is probably still praying that it's for sure a girl. Arden after the shower

And just for fun, here is a picture of me at my first baby shower last November. Look how swollen/fat I look!!!!

Matthews Alive

On Labor Day weekend, a town nearby has a four day festival with music, arts, crafts, rides and food and I've been going since I was little. It was really hot and we didn't stay long. Enjoy the pictures!

The Closet

All this time I actually thought Arden was looking at all her clothes in her closet and smilling and cooing and getting all excited about them. Then it finally hit me....
She's not admiring all her cute clothes....it's her Elmo easter basket ($2 after easter. You know me, I love a deal) that is sitting on the shelf. she loves Elmo. and Dora. and big balloons. and big balloons of Elmo and Dora.

She likes this guy too ;)
