Strawberry Picking

Arden had an absolute blast Strawberry picking. I wanted to take her last year, but didn't get to. We went last Thursday and it was a perfect morning. When we arrived, there was hardly anyone there, it was overcast and the weather was perfect. I told Arden to only pick pretty red ones and she sure did a good job. She had to take a bite of every. single. one. that she picked and if it was especially good, she took two bites and put them in her box. After each one, she said, "mmmm dat's good!"

After the girls filled their boxes, they did the maze which Arden wanted to do over. and over. and over.

Then we checked out the chickens and the water pump.

I have been trying to get Arden to put her face in these things at various places forever and she never would. I guess she just needed some confidence from Issa. We couldn't get her to leave it; she thought it was so funny.
We had a blast and I really want to go back, but I'm not sure we will make it back this year.

Strawberries Anyone?

We came home and ate strawberries (Arden was so worried about them riding in the back of the car where she couldn't keep an eye on them) and made Freezer jam. Afterwards, Clarisa and Arden went out and had a few Easter egg hunts (they threw the eggs in the grass and Arden collected them =) ) That excitement ended when Arden fell on the walkway and scraped her knee and landed on her cheek.

It was nice having Clarisa with us for a few days during her spring break so I could get a lot done....like a lot of putting my feet up and a lot less picking Arden up. Actually she didn't even want me to pick her up. Any time we were getting out of the car...."No Mommy! Issa get me out!" Fine with me!

Friends!

Arden ADORES her aunt Issa. Can you tell?

These pictures are so last month when Clarisa visited us for a day. Arden is pretty much stuck like glue to her when she's around. I'm not quite sure if Clarisa realizes just how much Arden likes her, but she just might love her more than she loves her mom and dad =).
Last Tuesday we got to spend some time with Trey and Rebecca who we haven't seen in FOREVER. I'm not sure if Arden even remembered Trey, but for the rest of the day all I heard was "Where's Shrey mommy?" "Where's Shrey?" "Where Shrey go?" He is such a cutie pie I can't stand it.
We tried to get a picture of them together with the easter bunny, but Arden wasn't having it. I was a little shocked considering her love for characters and how just the week before she followed Chubby everywhere and gave him at least 5 hugs. I was a little embarrassed.
Trey was so funny with the bunny. He wasn't thrilled about sitting beside him, but did it anyway. Then the bunny put his arm around him and Trey gave him a dirty look and pushed his hand away. It was very cute.

UGH.

I should be nice and leave it at that, but I'm not in the mood. A few men recently have told me recently how HUGE I am and that I must be having the baby 'today' or twins or something. Really? REALLY?! Thank you sooooo much! So I thought it was just men because would a woman really say something that? I would never think of telling any pregnant woman she looked huge.
Saturday, we took Arden to an Easter Egg hunt (that just ended up being crafts and a visit with the Easter bunny due to the weather) and an old man told me I must be due today, because I sure looked like I was about to have that baby.
Today, after my appointment, I ran to costco and the cashier asked me if I was going to have the baby after I left the store. I said, "yep, that's the plan haha!" He said when are you due? Me- "3 weeks." Cashier guy- "Wow! 3 weeks?! Tell me you have 2 in there!" I turn to the lady behind me, "am I really that big? geez" She just rolled her eyes and shook her head. Cashier guy- "Yeah, you kind of are!" Thanks.
So I was talking to my mom about the two recent incidents and how you would never hear a woman say stuff like that (though there have been one or two) and men are ignorant etc. Then a sweet friend drops in by surprise and brings dinner tonight, and goes on to tell me how she and another friend were just talking about me at church saying how big I am. REALLY? Gosh how freakin sweet of you!
At least there was one guy yesterday who was shocked when I told him I had 3 weeks left. NOT shocked because he figured I must be past my due date at this point, but because he thought I looked small. I will love him forever.
If Derek ever tells a pregnant woman she looks huge, I will smack the fire out of him, but I'm pretty sure after reading this, it won't ever happen (not that I could ever picture him saying it in the first place).
That's my big rant of the night, but while I'm on it, I might as well keep rolling!
-I haven't slept well in a really long time. I have discovered that if I sleep sitting up, it causes a ton less pain on my pelvic bones. After I get to about 20 weeks, I can no longer sleep on my right side due to the right pelvic dropping, but sleeping only on my left started causing a sore on my hip. When I sleep sitting up, I can actually get out of bed and stand up! Well it's not the most comfy way to sleep and last Thursday night, I just really wanted to curl up in bed, watch hgtv and go to sleep. So that's what I did. Surprise, surprise! I could not walk in the morning. The pain is so amazing I can't even explain it. Literally could not walk. But it sure was nice falling asleep curled up with my pillow.
-I'm tired of people asking me if I feel good today. NO! The pain is always there. sometimes it's mild and sometimes it's strong, but I always feel it and it never feels good.
-Yesterday and today I woke up with sharp, shooting pain at my pelvic bone (different that the norm). Today, the Doctor said the baby's head is way down there and is probably hitting my already sensitive bone.
-Today was the first time a doctor actually paid attention to my swollen feet/ankles. You know, they ask every time and check it off that list, but never seem to really care. They just need some questions to fill in the five minutes they see you. He was concerned because my right was double the size of my left foot. That brings me to my next complaint:
-Why don't any Doctors know a thing about SPD?! They don't know enough so they brush it off. IF he knew more about it, he just might understand why my right foot is so dang BIG!!!
-I think I reached my breaking point last week =). I've been nauseous and today, I feel so sick, my foot hurts, my back hurts, pelvic hurts, arm hurts and I'm just done.

-If you read through all the complaining, bless you. Next post will be about a cute blue eyed, curly haired girl I know. Hopefully =).....not that I have much nice things to say about her, since she is totally into the terrible two's and likes to hit me and tell me "no way!" She's still cute.

Nana and Papa visit!

About a month ago (I know, I know) Derek's parents came to visit for a week. It's so nice having a little extra help around.

(I can't remember if Arden saw maracas on TV or what prompted her to want hers, but here they are searching for her maracas.....I think Nana got a little sidetracked with a doll though =) )

Sesame Street Live was in town while they were here, so we took Arden to see it. Arden has always liked elmo and cookie monster, never really cared about watching Sesame Street on TV, but she really liked the show. We enjoyed it too; it was very cute.

On Sunday, we only planned on going to church the first hour. Well as we were making our way out, I kept getting stopped by people, so Derek went ahead and took Arden out. apparently that wasn't her plan to leave early. She made her way back to the door and met me inside, grabbed my hand and pulled me to her class door. She loves nursery!(I really think that it didn't help that one of her teachers picked her up in the hall to give her a hug and talk to her.) So, like good parents, we let her go to class and left! Don't point fingers; I was feeling particularly bad that day and there was no way I could have sat/stood around any longer. I told her teacher that she was 'mommy' until the end of church =).

The night before Nana and Papa left, we went to Chuck E Cheese. Arden loves that place and we really don't even have to spend any money there because her favorite things are the slide and the band.

She does like skeeball but she doesn't like to stay in one lane and throws the balls rather wildly.
(see the ball in the air?)

Arden cried for about 15 minutes after Nana and Papa left, then when Derek came back home, she got excited, saying, "Daddy Home!" Then she looked out the window and said, "Where's Nana?" and started crying again. She has a tough time with goodbyes. Poor thing.

Prayers

Night time prayers have become a bit of a struggle lately. Arden used to be really good, kept it somewhat short and kept her eyes closed. Now, she closes her eyes for about 5 seconds then walks around playing with things while attempting to say a prayer, but ends up repeating "boppy, tom-kali" over and over because she isn't concentrating. After a few minutes, I just pick her up and put her in bed while she continues. I feel bad, but she won't listen. She won't let Derek or me say it; she has to do it.
This is a recent one she said before her nap that was actually fairly normal:

Foder dis day, Boppy, Nana, Papa, Mimi, Issa, Boppy, Daddy, Mommy, eat butter jelly, tom kali, Hunter, Incoln, mommy (that means hunter and lincoln's mom) Eli, Ainsley, mommy, Emery, see Boppy amen.

Most days, her prayer includes everyone she can think of that she knows (those above plus Abby (babysitter), Ecky, Paul, Ashie, Mark, B, Coco, Utin, Ainsley's mommmy.

The cutest names she says are Mark and Paul.

Ok, so maybe it's not THAT long, but still, it seems pretty long for a youngin'
