Nonni and Grandpa

(So I've had this post ready for a while, but had a problem loading pictures onto blogger)

While Derek's parents came to visit, we were able to celebrate his mom's birthday with her!

(finishing her dinner so she can get to the good stuff)

Having fun with Nonni:

At a cooking class I went to with my church group recently, they had an amazingly delicious Whole wheat blueberry cake (NO oil or applesauce in the recipe!- I told my dad that, so he asked if there was tofu in it. I used to make cakes with tofu instead of oil. They are very moist that way too) and I thought it would be perfect to make for Nonni's birthday! I think it's one of my favorite cakes ever.
Arden wanted to make sure she tried it first to see if it was safe for the rest of us to eat:

I'm pretty sure this is the first time Arden ate Chocolate cake. I remember giving her a chocolate cupcake in January but she wouldn't touch it.

and she actually did love it, until the end, when she ate a blueberry (see it on the side of her mouth? she's pushing it out). This child...Derek and I LOVE blueberries, so she better get her act together!

She has been on a roller coaster with food lately, but one thing that never fails-PB&J. She will eat a whole peanut butter and jelly sandwich and an apple for lunch. Crust included. And by whole I don't mean one slice of bread folded over. 2 slices of whole wheat bread =). I don't know but that just seems like a lot for an 18mo old.

The princess and the boys:

I am truly thankful for such great in-laws. They are so easy to talk to, fun, caring, generous and all that other stuff Derek wanted me to say...hehe just kidding. They really are great and we wish they lived closer!
