Eight

Little miss Arden turned 8 months last Thursday but I've been so busy doing things for two baby showers (one for Ashley on Saturday and Misheal's on Sunday), trying to organize myself and my house while keeping an eye on a baby who is into EVERYTHING. She started crawling a month ago and she is nonstop. She does not like crawling in the kitchen. I guess it hurts her knees. At first she'd stop at the edge of the carpet or go just inside, stop and cry/yell. Now she goes in a little and takes a break, then goes a little more....until she gets to where I'm at or to where she wants to go. She has an eagle eye too. she seriously doesn't miss a thing. She will spot the smallest little piece of nothing on the floor ACROSS the room and crawl over to it and put it in her mouth. EVERYTHING goes into her mouth and if I catch her I say no and run over to her and she shoves whatever it is into her mouth as fast as she can and smiles/laughs. Wild thing. She only looks sweet and innocent. Arden is back to eating food. She still has 5 bottles a day and two jars of food and she eats cereal only mixed with fruit. When she is drinking a bottle, she likes to hold the cap. It used to be a burp cloth but now she throws that off and just wants the cap. She still takes two naps about two hours each, then she'll play in her crib for 30 minutes when she wakes up. I love it. She is like clockwork with her food and naps and gets fussy if she is off schedule. She smiles and laughs a lot and talks a lot. On Sunday, She was repeating everything I said....well I was only saying 'da da' but she would say it after me every time.

She does not like getting dressed/undressed and she will not stay still for a diaper change anymore! It is such a job to change her diaper! I remember a friend at church telling me how her son would take off in the middle of changing him and how hard it was and I was thinking 'wow she has an active boy'...Arden just wants to sit up. She hates laying down. Last Friday while I was at a consignment sale, Derek and Clarisa were changing Arden's dirty diaper and she got up and got away beofore they could clean her up and then right after clarisa said "I hope she doesn't pee," she peed.

She LOVES Elmo. I bought a singing/dancing elmo at the consignment sale for $3!!! last week and she loves it.

She also loves books, especially her finger puppet books. her favorite toy in the bathtub is a book. I hope she grows up with a love for reading.

She has the grip of a man! I'm serious this little girl is strong! I have had a few people tell me that and just trying to get something out of her hand is a job.

She is in a stage (maybe?) where she doesn't like her head or hair to be touched. She doesn't want it brushed, she doesn't want it wet, and she doesn't want any headbands on it.
I just put it on and she's already reaching for it in the back

Oh this is going to be easy to get off hmmm
ok..maybe not
now this is ridiculous
help please!

Finally!
